Young Volunteer Preservationist Award
CSAA Young Volunteer Preservationist Award Details
CSAA celebrates the youth among us with the Young Volunteer Preservationist Award which denotes an appreciation and recognition of youth ages 14- 22 who display a deep interest and involvement in promoting early American school history by volunteering at schoolhouse sites, museums, historical societies, colleges, etc.

This award recognizes the dedicated young person who willingly and regularly gives of their time.  Examples:  Volunteer, docent, curator, researcher, cataloger, conserver, fundraiser, re-enactor, creator of displays/exhibits, site maintenance, summer intern, jack of all trades, etc.

The one time award of $300 is given annually by CSAA to honor a young individual working in the field of early school history.  This award encourages younger voices in historic preservation that are the future of CSAA. The nominated youth must have been a volunteer a minimum of two years.

Nominations will be accepted via the submission form below to the CSAA database late fall/early winter, with nominations due by January 31.  Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee.  Award winners will be announced in mid-April, and be presented at the CSAA conference in June. CSAA will seek to publicize the awards and winners with media outlets associated with each winner in advance of the conference.
